Change is a transformation, losing one’s original nature. The process of conversion can be slow or fast depending upon who or what is under going it. For eg. If a we see ice it converts into water and water changes from liquid to water vapour in some amount depending upon the heat supplied for it to change. Similarly in living beings like caterpillar we see that caterpillar converts to butterfly in a particular time, but the time for this conversion is more than what is required by water to turn into water vapour. Likewise in humans also we see an infant growing into a teenager and consequently changing into adult. So we see everything around us varying from its innate state and we take reference as the time we started to observe it. Any variation in outer appearance is easily recognized by us and acknowledged.
Constant is something unvarying in nature, something which is forever, is fact or information that will always remain true. We say position of a particular star is fixed in universe in spite of the fact we know the universe is expanding and all stars are moving in a particular orbit. In such a case how can we say star is stationary? In such a case we are taking a reference and saying that stars position is same with respect to our position in universe and hence have taken it as fixed. It is just the difference in perception that we have of still and moving. Doppler’s effect as we say it.
Everything in this universe is moving and undergoing some kind of deviation from the original. The difference may be very minor for us to observe or a major one. We according to our convenience have manipulated the facts. The reality is that everything is undergoing some variation weather we see it or not. Hence the concept of change remains true for everything living or non-living and this very fact cannot be altered. Hence we can say “Change is the only constant”.
